The Ghana Police Service has assured the general public and all government workers to carry out their normal duties, emphasizing its commitment to ensuring their safety.
Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, December 12, 2024, the Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, reaffirmed the Service’s dedication to maintaining law and order across the country during the election period.
She noted that incidents of violence have significantly reduced in the past 24 hours due to the police’s efforts to apprehend perpetrators of post-election disturbances. She further revealed that 17 additional suspects have been arrested over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of arrests to 123.
ACP Ansah-Akrofi also announced the recovery of a stolen pickup vehicle belonging to Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, which was reported missing on Monday, December 9, 2024. The vehicle is now in police custody.
She assured the public that the Ghana Police Service will continue to do its utmost to protect the peace and security of the nation.
