Ghana Football Association president, Kurt Okraku has said that he was not happy with the performance of the Black Stars players after the team’s draw against Niger.
The Black Stars on match day 2 of the ongoing 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers drew 1-1 with Niger at a neutral venue in Morocco days after losing 1-0 to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Addressing the team ahead of Ghana’s game against Sudan, Kurt Okraku said he didn’t understand why the players were smiling after drawing a game against Sudan of all countries.
“Few weeks ago we played against Niger, how did you guys feel when we drew against Niger? Come on guys you drew 1-1 with Niger, that’s was the score line and after the game some of you were smiling. We saw a Black Stars team without desire and passion on the day.”
He added that some of the players who featured for Niger in the game against the Black Stars cannot command a starting place in his club Dreams FC.
“You drew against Niger and I can tell you that some of the players who featured in the game cannot penetrate into my club Dreams FC. We draw a game and I see some of you smiling and laughing and that is not acceptable here”.
The Black Stars will play against Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, 2024, on match day 3 of the ongoing 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
