You are taking too long to announce the obvious - Asiedu Nketiah to EC

The Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has criticized the Electoral Commission (EC) for delaying the declaration of presidential and parliamentary results.

Speaking at a press conference held at the NDC headquarters, on Sunday, December 8, Asiedu Nketiah warned that the delay could provoke agitated youth to cause unrest.

He emphasized that this goes against an agreement reached between the Electoral Commission, the NDC, and other stakeholders through a peace pact weeks before the elections.

The politician urged the Electoral Commission to avoid any dubious actions and expedite the collation and declaration of the results to the Ghanaian public. “Both parties have already projected results that are consistent with each other, moving in one particular direction. So why do you delay to declare the obvious? You don’t need to declare all the constituency results before announcing the winner of the presidential election.” he argued.
