Karlsruher defender Stephan Ambrosius has announced he will be missing the World Cup due to injury.
Ambrosius, who made Otto Addo’s provisional list, revealed on Monday that he won’t be available because of an injury sustained over the weekend.
The centre-back vented his dissatisfaction in a social media post while wishing the Black Stars well in the competition. “Very frustrating. Unfortunately, I’ll be missing the next games. Thank you so much for all the well wishes! I wish my club and the national team all the best on their upcoming tasks.”
After pledging his future to the West Africans earlier this year, Ambrosius is yet to make his Ghanaian debut.
He played for Germany as a youth player before switching allegiance to Ghana. He was born in Germany to Ghanaian parents.
The 23-year-old was expecting to be a part of the team that will play Uruguay, South Korea, and Portugal at the World Cup.
