The World Health Organization has supervised the transportation of 11 children with cancer from the Gaza strip to receive medical attention.
Nermine Abu Shaaban, the patient evacuation coordinator for WHO, says the children were transferred through the Kerem Shalom crossing into Israel and were headed to neighboring Jordan for treatment.
According to reports, severn of the children were transferred by ambulance and the remainder on a bus. The evacuation was organized by the WHO and two U.S. charities.
The Health Ministry in Gaza has confirmed the deaths of more than 40,000 Palestinians amidst the cross fires between Israel and Hamas.
Presently Qatar has commenced talks aimed at halting the conflict, the situation remains volatile. Both sides also heighten efforts to avoid regional escalation.
