Former Black Stars striker, Augustine Arhinful has given up on Ghana’s chances of making it to the 35th edition of the African Cup of Nations in Morocco 2025.
According to Augustine Arhinful, Ghana’s chances of making it to Morocco now depends on Sudan dropping the ball while hoping that the Black Stars can win their remaining two games against Angola and Niger.
He said the chances of this becoming a reality is very slim hence the need for the country to concentrate on the qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup where the Black Stars are on top of their group with 6 points.
“Now Sudan is leading us in terms of points and head to head. They need just a point to qualify and I don’t think they will lose all two games for us to overtake them while we win our two games.”
“We won’t qualify for the AFCON but we have the World Cup qualifiers to play. So the appointing authority should be up and doing for us to concentrate on the World Cup qualifiers,” Augustine Arhinful told Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Happy Sports.
The Black Stars are currently third with 2 points following their 2-0 defeat to Sudan in Libya on match day 4 of the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
