The National Chairman of the opposition NDC, Johnson Aseidu Nketia, has firmly declared that neither the party nor former President John Mahama will congratulate President Akufo-Addo of winning the 2020 elections.
In a press conference held at the party’s headquarters on Monday, January 9, Aseidu Nketia firmly declared, “We will not congratulate anybody who murders Ghanaians to secure power.”
This statement was a direct response to President Akufo-Addo’s comments on his anticipation for former President Mahama’s congratulatory message on his victory in the 2020 elections.
The NDC’s General Secretary underscored their position, emphasizing a refusal to extend congratulations amid concerns about alleged violence associated with the quest for political power.
The statement reflects the heightened tensions between the ruling party and the opposition, creating a contentious atmosphere following the recent elections.
