Nana Sasraku Gyimah II, in an interview with Happy FM’s Don Prah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, however, explained: “Genser Energy will not just come out one day to take action without consulting traditional rulers of the area. They rightfully informed us of what they intended to do. And in any case, looking at our current situation, I doubt any chief will halt this kind of development in their area. As traditional rulers, there is no way we will reject this development in our community”.
The Chief further debunked all claims that Genser Energy tried to steal the lands of the cocoa farmers in Wasa Amenfi. According to him, cocoa farmers were consulted before a decision was taken.
In the recent edition of Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ Inside Story’ Cocoa Series, reports had it that Genser Energy Ghana Limited (‘GEGL’) which provides distributed power generation solutions in Ghana to multinational industrial and mining companies seeks to take lands of cocoa farmers in Wassa to expand their business.
