We have no information on NAM 1’s arrest – Ghana Consulate in Dubai

The Consulate General of the Republic of Ghana in Dubai has stated that they do not have any information on the arrest of any Ghanaian with the name Nana Appiah Mensah in Dubai.

In an interview with Happy FM’s reporter , Joseph Nii Ankrah, the Ghana Consulate in Dubai denied knowledge of the alleged arrest of the CEO of embattled gold firm Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah.
“We don’t have any information of any Ghanaian being arrested here in Dubai with the Name Nana Appiah Mensah.”

The interview comes on the back of reports that emerged in Ghana on Sunday that Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM 1, had been arrested in Dubai.

On Wednesday January 9, 2019 an Accra court issued a warrant for Mr. Mensah’s arrest for allegedly “defrauding by false pretence” while operating his gold firm. His wife and sister are also on the wanted list of 194 countries.

NAM 1 has been on the run since the warrant was issued.
