Speaking on Happy98.9FM, Peter Boamah Otukonor said, “we have not boycotted Peace FM but rather boycotted their morning show, ‘Kokrokoo because of unfair representation”. He told Samuel Eshun, host of the Happy Morning Show.

The NDC has refused to appear on the Kokrokoo show because it is being unfairly represented on the show, and host of the show also insists that the former NDC Central Regional Chairman, Allotey Jacobs remain part of his Wednesday panel.

According to the Deputy Secretary of the NDC, the actions of producers and host of the show amounts to them “short changing” the party which will eventually affect their political ambitions.

Peter Otukonor noted that the decision was not arrived at overnight, but the difficulty to arrive at a consensus led them to take that drastic action. “We’ve been having a series of back and forth with the station for as far back as last year. So we decided if there will be unfair representation then we will advise ourselves”.

The NDC has boycotted the Kokrokoo show because their Wednesday slot on the show which has consistently hosted two (2) of the party’s communicators in a panel of four (4) over the years has been reduced to one.

Their bone of contention is in the fact that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been given an upper arm over them. They claim the NPP’s slot has not changed with the party sometimes having up to three (3) of their communicators in a panel of four (4) which is unfair representation.

It has been noted that the party has however not served the media house with any official notice of their boycott.
