A Board member of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Alhaji Tophic says the Boxing Authority is yet to receive an official complaint on boxer Patrick Allotey who assaulted a fan on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
There has been calls for the GBA to show interest in the matter by sanctioning the boxer over his misconduct and unprofessional manner.
Patrick Allotey was seen in a video assaulting a Kotoko fan by name Michael Siaw at the Stadium.
In an interview on Happy Sports with Ohene-Bampoh Brenya, GBA Board member Alhaji Tophic stated the association is unable to act now because there hasn’t been any official complaint from both sides in regards to the matter.
“There hasn’t been any complain for us to take action from both sides. We can’t do anything for now because there hasn’t been any formal complaint”.
He further said, the GBA will formally invite the Boxer to answer questions on the video circulating.
“We are going to invite the boxer to GBA to answer questions concerning the viral video. We will officially write to the Boxer to come and explain to us”.
“If indeed he is guilty of the offense his license can be revoked”.
“Any boxer is not supposed to throw his blow outside the ring which is against our rules”, he concluded.
