Watch Okatakyie-Afrifa-Mensah-question Nana-Addo on improper construction of roads and drainages at Meet-the-Press

Outspoken political show host, Kwame Afrifa-Mensah, drew the attention of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the poor construction of roads and drainages in the country.

Youth President, as he is popularly called, at the Meet-the-Press at the Jubilee House on Friday asked the President why as a developing country in the 21st century, we still have open drainages and bad roads.

According to Afrifa-Mensah, as a country are we building a temporary Ghana or permanent one for the next generation?

President Nana Addo in response said, “I think it is a legitimate point about roads that we have built in the past and the various auxiliary constructions that should go along with it. I believe that, if you are taking note of what is being done now, both matters are being addressed. Both the quality as well as the drainage system of the roads that are being built now. You can see for yourself even in the roads that are being done here in Accra, that a new approach is being adopted and I’m hoping that when it’s over we will all see that change is being made and we are getting more permanent road infrastructure that we have had up till now.”

Afrifa-Mensah’s question has been described by many social commentators as one of the brilliant questions asked during the President’s Meet-the-Press on Friday.
