Jordan Ayew marked his first start for Leicester City with a goal and an assist as the Foxes defeated Tranmere Rovers in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.
The Ghana international made his Leicester debut last Saturday – following his move from Crystal Palace – when he came off the bench in their 2-1 loss to Fulham in the Premier League.
Ayew was finally handed a start for Tuesday’s EFL Cup game and he grabbed his chance as the Foxes coasted to a comfortable 4-0 victory over their league Two opponents.
Having opened the scoring with a brilliant outside-of-the-box finish, he then set up Wilfred Ndidi for his goal, as Stephy Mavididi and Harry Winks also got on the score sheet.
Ayew will now be aiming for his first Premier League start when Leicester host Aston Villa on Sunday.
