Randy Abbey, Ghana Football Association Exco Member Hopeful has shared his view that opening up the Football Association to other stakeholders is not about who to contest for an election or not.
In an exclusive interview with Ohene Brenya on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports, he stated that the right to vote and be voted for is strictly a membership right and this is clearly written in the statutes so to enjoy this right, one must be affiliated to a member for at least two years.
He instanced, ‘’So if you, Ohene Brenya, have aspirations of being part of the running of Ghana football, get affiliated with Heart of Lions, come and do some work with them and after two years, having demonstrated that you have been affiliated to a member, you have the opportunity of contesting for any position that is open once you meet the criteria’’.
Therefore, a non-member or a member who has not had up to about two years affiliation with any member of the Ghana Football Association cannot contest in an election to steer the affairs of members.
