Member of Parliament for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak, has backed his words with action by riding a bicycle to Parliament today Tuesday, November 6, in protest of the high cost of fuel and the economic conditions under the President Nana Akufo-Addo led government.
Speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, the NDC MP said, “Fuel prices keep going up. Prices of commodities keep going up and there seems to be no end in sight in respect of the suffering that ordinary Ghanaians who do not have free fuel and free vehicles maintained by the state.”
Ras Mubarak also prayed that the 2019 budget set to be delivered later in November, delivers on the hope President Nana Addo has promised and also offer relief to Ghanaians.
The prices of both petrol and diesel have risen by about 2.76 percent. The price of petrol and diesel is currently pegged at about GH¢5.21 per litre, up from the previous price of GH¢5.07 per litre, despite a reduction in the price of crude oil on the international market.
President Akufo-Addo has also previously admitted that times are difficult for Ghanaians though the country has not seen any crisis.
