The subsequent penalty shootout favored Nania FC, who triumphed 4-3, advancing to the Round 32 of the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup.
Unhappy with the outcome, some Hearts of Oak supporters lingered to boo the players, criticizing their perceived poor performance and lack of effort to secure a win.
This setback adds to the challenges faced by Hearts of Oak since the departure of coach Samuel Boadu, who previously led the team to consecutive MTN FA Cup and Ghana Premier League titles. Since Boadu’s exit, the club has struggled to secure any trophies.
