Happy 98.9FM visited the Dunkwa Youth and Sports Center to ascertain the level of work done at the facility from our first visit.
Works on the facility seem to have halted when our reporter visited the place.
There had been some development at the facility from our first visit.
According to our reporter Paa Kwesi, the side of the pitch which had been damaged had been repaired. The football pitch was also in good shape but needed some works to make it playable.
The tartan tracks for the facility were not ready as it seems to be under construction.
The report also revealed that the facility had been abandoned for several months since there was no construction going on at the time of filing the report.
Information gathered by Happy 98.9FM indicated that the complex had not been fenced because of the telecommunication tower owned by MTN which was on the land.
Our checks at the Municipal Chief Executive Office revealed that a letter had been sent to MTN to relocate their communication tower for the construction of the fence to begin.
Happy 98.9FM noticed that after several months of the project being abandoned due to lack of funds some of the materials were getting rusty because they had been left to the mercy of the weather.
The contractor has not been on the site for several months and the security officials guarding the place are ready to go on strike for non-payment of salaries.
Happy 98.9FM will keep you posted on developments at the facility.
