#Transferfilla: Asante Kotoko reappoints Prosper Narteh Ogum as gaffer

Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is set to make a comeback to Asante Kotoko as the head coach, HappySports can confirm.

Ogum will be taking charge of player recruitment.

This comes on the back of the dying need
of a permanent head coach by champions of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko.

Initially, Ogum guided the team to victory in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season, clinching the league title in his debut season. However, he was unexpectedly dismissed despite signing a two-year contract with the club.

Seydou Zerbo, a Burkinabe trainer, was brought in as Ogum’s replacement before the commencement of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season. Nonetheless, Zerbo was relieved of his duties midway through the season following a loss to Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Abdul Gazale, the assistant coach, was named as the interim coach, leading the team to a fourth-place finish with 52 points.

Prosper Narteh Ogum, who had been unattached after leaving Asante Kotoko, has returned to the club, as reported by Opemsuo Radio. Alongside legendary James Kwasi Appiah, he will oversee the player recruitment process in preparation for the upcoming season.

The new 2023/24 season is scheduled to kick off in September.
