A devastating incident occurred in Dambai when a staff member tasked with repairing a broken ferry lost his life in a drowning accident.
According to Charles Awuranyi, Assembly Member for Dambai Central, the ferry became stuck in the middle of the Oti River, prompting the deceased and another staff member to enter the river to rectify the issue. Sadly, the deceased staff member drowned while attempting to fix the ferry.
Awuranyi, who shared the incident with the media emphasized the need for a permanent solution to address the recurring problems with the ferry, highlighting the urgency for improved safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
The deceased has been taken to Worawora Hospital for preservation. The community is now pleading with authorities to take immediate action and put the ferry in good working condition, as the current state of disrepair is having a significant impact on their lives.
