
Another tragedy has been recorded as twelve people have been confirmed dead in a car crash at Akwatiakrom in the Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti Region on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway.
The accident occurred about four kilometres from the spot where Ebony and two others also had an accident and died.
A Ford mini bus with registration number AS 7257-15 travelling from Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region to Kumasi in the Ashanti regional capital collided head-on a Benz cargo truck with registration number GR 2624-14 travelling from Kumasi to Dormaa Ahenkro.
The crash which left 11 dead males including the driver of the Ford mini bus and a female is believed to have been caused by a foggy weather condition hampered visibility on the road.
The police also say there are no streetlights on that stretch of road.
Frank Abrokwah, MTTD Commander, Ashanti Region, in an interview on Monday, 14 May that the bus was mangled beyond repairs.
“If you see the pictures you’ll marvel”, he said.
The bodies have been conveyed to the Mankraso Government Hospital morgue while the injured are being treated at the same health post.
Dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns, her friend- Franklin Kuri and military officer said to be her bodyguard Atsu Vondee died on the spot when their Jeep vehicle crashed into a bus on the Mankraso-Sunyani stretch of the main Kumasi-Sunyani road in February this year.
