Ghana contingent for the 2020 Olympic Games arrived at the Olympic Village on Saturday 17 July 2021 ahead of the start of the multi-sports event on Friday, July 23, 2021
Ghana pitched camp in Inawashiro to undergo a two-week training as part of preparations for the Olympic Games.
The first batch made of a 14-man contingent led by Chef de Mission Mr Michael Aggrey (President of Ghana Golf Association) arrived in Japan on July 5, 2021 to begin camping.
Team Ghana trained at the Inawashiro Town General Gymnasium which had facilities such as badminton court, basketball court, volleyball court, table tennis, boxing ring, judo, and an athletics oval.
Ghana’s Track and Field Athletes camped in the USA and are expected to join the team at the Olympic Village later this week.

Ghanaian athletes currently at the Olympic Games Village are: Abeiku Jackson (Swimming), Unilez Yebowaah Takyi (Swimming), Suleiman Tetteh (Boxing), Samuel Takyi (Boxing), Shakul Samed (Boxing) and Christian Amoah (Weightlifting).
Ghana qualified in five disciplines namely: Boxing, track and field, judo, swimming and weightlifting.
