TikTok has returned to the Apple and Google app stores after President Donald Trump lifted the ban on the app’s operations across the United States.
The app was removed from app stores in the U.S. as the ban deadline approached in early January this year.
Bloomberg first reported the app’s return to app stores on Friday.
Used by more than 170 million Americans, TikTok is back after Google and Apple received assurances from the Trump administration that they would not face liability for allowing downloads, and the ban would not yet be enforced.
TikTok will remain available for downloads in the U.S. until April 5. ByteDance, the app’s parent company, is expected to reach an agreement that aligns with U.S. terms to continue its operations.
