The National President of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) Trainees Association of Ghana, Dennis Katakyie has revealed that the Coalition of NABCO trainees who petitioned the National Peace Council to intervene in NABCO allowance arrears issues are not NABCO trainees.

According to him, the letter that was addressed to the Peace council did not have his endorsement or signature and the people who endorsed the letter are not legitimate members of NABCO.

In an interview with Happy Kasiebo, Dennis Katakyie indicated that even though the supposed NABCO Trainees are helping them to retrieve their money that has been in arrears for eight months the Peace Council is not part of state institutions to be petitioned.

Referring to the supposed NABCO trainees’ letter addressed to the Ministry of Finance on the same issue, the Finance Ministry made it clear to them that they are not responsible for the release of their arrears and for that matter they should go to the presidency to demand for their money.

He added that, as a leader of the group, he is doing everything possible to retrieve the eighth months arrears for his members.

He called on Ghanaians and civil society organizations to add their voice to the call in order for the President to release the eighth month arrears owned to NABCO Trainees.

His response comes after the Coalition of NABCO trainees petitioned the National Peace Council to intervene in NABCO allowance arrears to ensure National security and stability.

The Coalition in their press statement dated 17th September 2024 threatened to storm the Jubilee House forecourt, just a week before Elections if government fails to settle their eight months arrears.
