Former Accra Hearts of Oak striker, Kwadwo Obeng Jnr has said that he feels betrayed about the way and manner he was pushed out of the team.
According to Obeng Jnr, he had many offers to leave Hearts of Oak but his love and loyalty for the Phobians didn’t make him leave only to be betrayed in the end by the hierarchy of the club.
He said they labeled him as the problem in the team but the things they were accusing him of still persists in the team even after his departure.
“I had offers from foreign clubs but because I respect Hearts, I told them they shouldn’t engage them (interested clubs). But unexpectedly, without committing an offence, I got sidelined.”
“If I was the problem, I’d understand and leave. Even with that, those they recruited have bigger problems than me,” Kwadwo Obeng Jnr told Vision One FM in an interview.
Despite being bitter about how he left, Kwadwo Obeng Jnr described his time at Hearts of Oak as very successful after winning 6 trophies and helping to break the Phobians’ 11 year wait for a trophy.
