Government’s spokesperson on Governance and Security, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, has described President Akufo-Addo as the most truthful leader in the world’s history.
He insists the President has never lied to Ghanaians as he keeps his promises to them (Ghanaians).
The Chiefs and people of Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Traditonal Area have, on Tuesday 23rd August, 2022, conferred the chieftaincy title of “Yelemanga Naa”, meaning “Chief of Truth”, on the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, at a brief durbar in Issa.
The conferral was done when President Akufo-Addo visited the town to inspect the progress of work on the Agenda 111 Hospital Project in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District, as part of his two-day tour of the Upper West region.
According to the Paramount Chief of the area, Naa Yelekuang Bawiele, the honour is a recognition of the extensive developmental projects undertaken by the President, since he assumed office in 2017, which is an adherence to the promises made to the people of the area during the electioneering campaign period.
Commenting on this title conferment in an interview with Happy98.9FM’s Don Kwabena Prah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ political talk show, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah said, “Throughout the whole world, I have never seen a President more truthful than President Akufo-Addo. Ford Magazine named him the man of Africa. In the height of the COVID-19 pandemic he was the admiration of the whole world. President Akufo-Addo never lies. He promised Ghanaians prosperity under his leadership and he has served us diligently.”
According to Palgrave, the Muslim community cherish honesty and will never confer such a title to anyone if they have doubts. “The President has been named Chief of Truth. Muslims and Northerners love the truth and hate lies so they conferring this title on the President is not something we should treat lightly.”
