The unsung heroes of the NPP’s 2020 victory

The unsung heroes of the NPP’s 2020 victory

Focus on saving the image of the NPP – Party faithful advised

Victories in most battles are won in the shadows by many unknown faces who will never be recognised or publicly acknowledged. Meanwhile, the few public faces of these victories, are perceived to be the ‘mighty hands’ that delivered such resounding victories.

One of such victories in the history of Ghana, is at the recent 2020 December general elections. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) managed to beat the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the race to the Flagstaff house by some three percent (3%) of the total votes cast owing to the unending efforts of some devoted patriots.

Admittedly, there are a lot of unsung heroes who played key roles to support the party to win the 2020 elections but today, we will look one William Frimpong-Bonsu.

William is the Deputy Director of the Greater Accra Regional Communications Team of the NPP and a stellar Development Consultant.

Regardless of having lost the Parliamentary Primaries in the Asutifi North Constituency, he never relented in his efforts to support the party and did all in his capacity to ensure the NPP’s victory.

Besides supporting the campaign in kind and cash, he also donated a pick up truck for the campaign in the Asutifi North and Ahafo Constituencies.

He was appointed a member of the Regional Campaign Team and was in the Operations and Communications Committee and also doubled as a member in the Research Committee of the Greater Accra Campaign Team.

His contribution to the 2020 campaign was enormous. William Frimpong-Bonsu is a true patriot who defended the party’s policies and programmes on social media, numerous TV and radio stations.

Being a patriotic citizen with a heart of gold, William has contributed to public policy formulation, governance, public sector reforms and capacity building programmes for Ministers of State, Civil Servants and others.

His passion for the NPP knows no bounds and the many ‘Williams’ in the NPP must be recognised for their hardwork, commitment and dedication.

However, I can say without any doubt that reward by the party is limited and this is the time that the party will have to dig deep and recognise people like William Frimpong-Bonsu…..hard work must pay…
