Ghana midfielder, Elisha Owusu has given positive feedback about the pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium after the first training session of the Black Stars.
Ghana is scheduled to face off with Sudan in a doubleheader showdown in Group F of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament this month.
The Black Stars are heading into the two games after a defeat to Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and a draw against Niger away from home.
After the game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, there were a lot of complaints about the bad state of the pitch, a situation that almost forced Ghana to play the upcoming first leg meeting with Sudan outside the country.
“It [the pitch] was good. I won’t lie to you the pitch was very good. We had an amazing training today so we are happy everybody is doing their thing to help us play better football. No, it’s on us to put the performance. We have an amazing staff. They do everything for us to give our best. We are ready mentally and we are here to win,” Elisha Owusu said.
Ghana hosts Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10. The match will kick off at 4 pm.
