The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to restoring safety and security in Ghana, vowing to tackle the alarming rise in violent crimes that have become rampant under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
Addressing supporters at Yeji market in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region, as part of his three-day regional tour on Wednesday September 4, Mahama expressed deep concern over the drastic deterioration of the country’s security since the NDC handed over power to the NPP.
He highlighted the disturbing surge in highway robberies, brutal attacks on gold dealers, and mobile money vendors, which have left many innocent citizens traumatized and in fear for their lives. Mahama criticized the NPP government for its apparent indifference to these pressing issues, accusing them of turning a deaf ear to the plight of the people.
He assured the public that the next NDC administration will prioritize the safety and security of citizens, and warned criminals and robbers that they will face swift and decisive action, as the NDC government will not tolerate their nefarious activities.
