Former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asokore Mampong, Alidu Seidu has argued that the Mahama led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government will never surpass the achievements of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In an interview with the media, Seidu claimed that the NDC administration has little to offer Ghanaians, dismissing the campaign promises made for 2024 as mere political rhetoric designed to win hearts.
He emphasized that the NPP is well aware of the NDC’s track record of making a lot of promises but fail to deliver, citing NDC can never outperform the previous administration led by Nana Addo.
Seidu pointed out that while Mahama is eloquent in opposition, his performance in power has been a source of disappointment.
He criticized the government’s current Education Forum at HO, stating that prominent academics such as Professor Yarhands Arthur remain in Kumasi, having not been invited to participate. He suggested that their exclusion was deliberate, as their honest opinions might challenge the government’s plans.
According to Seidu, the forum is unlikely to produce effective solutions, instead it may only generate two options; either cancel the Free Senior High School initiative due to its high cost or propose a cost-sharing arrangement between parents and the government. Seidu stated that very soon Ghanaians will seek a change and turn to the NPP, as Mahama’s administration is destined to fail.
