Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the General Overseer of the Action Chapel International and a member of the Board of Trustees for the National Cathedral has declared that the controversial project belongs to God.
According to Duncan-Williams, the edifice belongs to no individual or government official but to God, as it bears the name, “Yahweh”.
In a snippet shared by the official Twitter handle of the National Cathedral, Duncan-Williams stated, “The National Cathedral does not belong to any individual, it bears the name of Yaweh.”
“The name of Him who created the Heavens and the earth and whenever we go in there to pray, we pray in that name that is above every other name,” he added.
Earlier this year, Duncan-Williams together with some prominent clergymen National Cathedral project called for the immediate suspension and a financial audit undertaken of the project.
The group indicated that their call is based on the controversies surrounding the project.
According to them, the suspension will pave way for transparency and accountability to be provided to the Ghanaian people.
