Ruth Ama Eshun, a community health nurse, wife and mother of three children, who did not return from work on Monday, the 3rd of February, 2020 was found dead by some relatives a day later.
The lifeless body of Ruth Eshun was found lying in an unfrequented bushy area close to her residence at Ayuom in the Bosomtwi District of the Ashanti Region.
It is speculated that Ruth was gang-raped, robbed and killed, but there has not yet been any confirmation from the police on that.
Following up on the issue, the President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association, Perpetual Ampofo, has put out a press release demanding that the police treat the matter with urgency and bring the culprits to book.

It has further been reported that the Ashanti regional police in charge of the case have arrested one suspect believed to be in connection with the murder, and are currently running investigations on him.
It was also reported that the site of the incident was set on fire some days later but police say that will not affect the investigations in any way.
The deceased’s husband, however, has finally broken his silence on the issue and stated that he will admit the police have done a good job making an arrest in connection with the murder, but he wished that the process would be sped up so the perpetrators can be brought to book as soon as possible.

He said, ‘’I want very swift investigations to be done… I still see the investigation to be slow so I wish they expedite action so the perpetrators can be brought to book’’.
