The Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) has launched an initiative to empower women and youth entrepreneurs across the country.
This initiative dubbed the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women and Youth Wing (GNCCI- WAY) is designed not only to address existing barriers but to create a ripple effect of positive change that can uplift communities and stimulate broader economic growth.
Speaking during the launch of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women and Youth Wing, President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Stephen Abbas Miezan stated that, the initiative will target women and young entrepreneurs would be taken through some carefully curated programs to improve on their skills development.
“We aim to provide a framework for young and female entrepreneurs to thrive with targeted programs such as skills development, business development services, access to finance, market access, and networking opportunities”.
He further stated that, the initiative aligns with the current government’s vision as outlined in its manifesto, which includes the establishment of the Women’s Development Bank, the National Apprenticeship Programme, and the Adwumawura Programme.
“We are glad to note that this initiative aligns with the government’s vision. The Chamber is ready to support the government in ensuring that women-owned businesses grow not only in size but in number, creating more opportunities for the 1.5 million unemployed youth,” added Stephen Abbas Miezan.
