Takoradi traders lament ban on sale of vegetables

Traders who deal in vegetables in Takoradi in the Western Region have bemoaned the ban on the sale of vegetables in the Region due to a Cholera outbreak.

According to them, the decision by the Western Regional Co-ordinating council has impacted their business negatively resulting in low sales.

Madam Abubakar, a vegetable seller called on authorities to put the necessary measures in place to eradicate the Cholera outbreak to enable them resume their business as the Christmas season approaches.

The Western Regional Co-ordinating Council placed a ban on the sale of vegetables following the increasing number of Cholera cases and deaths in the region.

The Council indicated that their investigations indicated that most of the cases and deaths were as a result of contaminated vegetables consumed by people in the Region.
