
Spokesperson for Movement for Change Ghana, Andrew Appiah Danquah has called on government to suspend with immediate effect all operations of foreign bureaus in the country.
Speaking during a press conference on Tuesday February 18, 2025, Appiah Danquah suggested to government to mandate all foreign transactions to be conducted through commercial banks and the Bank Of Ghana.
He added that, “government’s existing regulations on the retention of foreign export revenue must be strictly enforced”.
“The Ministry of Finance should work with the Bank of Ghana to progressively bring down the central bank policy rate”.
Appiah Danquah further urged government to undertake a complete overhaul of the architecture of the country’s budgets.
“the Ministry must undertake a complete overhaul of the architecture of the national budgets, focusing first on ensuring macroeconomic stability, anchored on two pillars of fiscal consolidation and ties monetary policy, working in consultation with the Bank of Ghana”
