Supreme Court grants Mahama’s request to amend petition

Supreme Court in 9-0 unanimous decision throws out Mahama’s review application

The Supreme Court of Ghana has granted a request by Former President John Dramani Mahama to amend his position he filed against the presidential results of last year’s elections.

The apex court granted the request on the first day of the hearing of the Petition on Thursday January 14.

Mr Mahama last week filed a motion for the Supreme Court to give him the green light to correct an ‘error’ in his election petition challenging the validity of the declaration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the winner of Election 2020.

Mahama’s legal representation will be led by Tsikata with Lithur, Amenuvor with Asamoah first Respondent; Ampaw with Davies, Asirifi and oppong for the second Respondent.
