The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning as the candidate was en route from Sunyani to Chiraa to engage with delegates.

While the motive behind the assault remains unclear, Bediako emphasized that they are leaving the matter to the police, who have already commenced investigations.

He however indicated that Hon. Mubarak has been discharged and currently at the polling grounds.

“Hon. Mubarak was taken to the Sunyani Municipal Hospital for checks and examination. He also pleaded to be discharged to meet his people briefly. He’s currently on the grounds at the polling station to observe protocols,” stated Asare Bediako.
