The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended two of its Suhum Constituency executives for alleged anti-party activities.
Samuel Baah, the Constituency Communication Officer, and Alhaji Bala Abubakar, the Deputy Constituency Nassara Coordinator, received their suspension letters from the Constituency Executive Committee (CEC).
In a statement signed by Constituency Secretary Stephen A. Odame on Tuesday, August 13, it was revealed that the executives were found guilty of violating the party’s constitution through divisive and anti-party actions.
These included campaigning against the party’s parliamentary candidate, organizing processions with anti-party messages, and presenting a petition for the incumbent MP to run as an independent candidate.
Their actions were deemed to breach Articles 3(9)(1) and 3(5)(a)(2) and (4) of the NPP Constitution, leading to their suspension and forfeiture of their positions. The party stressed the importance of discipline and unity as it prepares for the 2024 elections, warning that such conduct will not be tolerated.
