Reigning Ghanaian Artist of the year, Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has taken aspiring politician and entertainment critic Sadiq Abdulai Abu, also known as Baba Sadiq, to court over comments made on his X page (formerly Twitter).
On May 31, 2024, Stonebwoy, filed a writ in the High Court of Justice, requesting that Baba Sadiq delete the offending tweets and issue an unqualified apology. Additionally, Stonebwoy is also seeking GHS 3 million in damages for harm to his reputation, alleging that Baba Sadiq’s false statements were made with malicious intent to defame him.
This legal action follows widespread social media concern over Stonebwoy’s initial silence regarding Sadiq’s troubling comments, which accused him of being a violent abuser of women. These allegations sparked intense discussions due to Stonebwoy’s established advocacy for women’s rights and his numerous philanthropic efforts supporting women.
The writ underscores Stonebwoy’s dedication to safeguarding his reputation by pursuing legal means to defend his rights.
