GTA welcomes Stevie Wonder after attaining his Ghanaian citizenship.

Officials of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and Beyond The Return, diplomats, and distinguished Ghanaians gathered on Monday to celebrate the official attainment of Ghanaian citizenship by musical maestro, Stevaland Hardaway Morris, professionally known as Stevie Wonder.
The ceremony, held at the African Regent Hotel in Accra, was attended by a multitude of supporters, where Stevie Wonder expressed his deep gratitude for realizing his dream of becoming a Ghanaian citizen. “Calling Ghana my home is something that I have always desired since my early days. I can tell I am home, I just feel it,” Stevie said.
Having made significant contributions to the global music industry, Stevie Wonder sees his new citizenship as the beginning of a mission to uncover the greatest talents in Ghana and Africa as a whole.
On Monday, May 13, 2024, Stevie Wonder was officially recognized as a citizen of the Republic of Ghana, marking a significant milestone for the Ghanaian music industry and a momentous occasion for Africa.
