The federal government of Nigeria has issued a stern warning to all foreign bodies to withdraw from playing active roles in ongoing protests in the country.
According to Nigerian media, The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, gave the warning while briefing members of the Diplomatic Corps in Abuja, briefly speaking on the importance of international cordial relationships.
Protestors at the peak of protests, waved foreign flags and lifted placards of belonging to foreign countries. The federal government suspected the involvement of foreign influence upon decisions especially in some northern states, including Kano, Kaduna and Zamfara.
Some foreigners have been charged and arrested as sponsors of the protest which goes against Nigerian government’s efforts to thaw uproars out.
