Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George has said that the Ministry of Youth and Sports still has questions to answer concerning the $3.6 million broadcast contract for the 2023 Africa Games.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports while reacting to a statement from the Director of General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Professor Amin Alhassan released a statement on how government paid monies to the entity for their coverage of the Africa Games.
However, according to Samuel Nartey George, the sports Minister told the Public Accounts Committee that they have made full payments but the figures in the statement is short of $100,000 dollars.
“We did the mathematics but the question is where is the remaining $100,000 because that was not accounted for in the press release aimed at responding to the Director General.”
“The Minister still has questions to answer because the total figure in the statement is $3.5 million but the total amount in the contract is $3.6 million so he has to account for the $100,000,” Samuel Nartey George said on Good Morning Ghana.
