Ghana’s amputee national team, the Black Challenge, have received resounding praise from the Minister of Youth and Sport, Mustapha Ussif after defending their Amputee AFCON title.

The Black Challenge displayed true grit, overcoming an early deficit to defeat Morocco 2-1 in a nail-biting final held in Cairo.

Minister Mustapha Ussif took to social media to express his elation at the team’s victory, commending their determination and exceptional skills. He highlighted how the Black Challenge has brought immense pride to the nation with their consistent excellence.

“Congratulations to the Black Challenge for defending their title at the African Amputee Football Cup of Nations! Your determination and skill have once again made Ghana proud. Kudos to the entire team for this remarkable victory!”, He wrote on his X.

The Black Challenge’s triumph wasn’t without its challenges, as coach Stephen Richard Obeng acknowledged the team’s perseverance despite limited support.

This victory extends Ghana’s dominance in African amputee football. They have secured their spot at the 2026 Amputee Football World Cup, adding another chapter to their impressive journey.
