Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has jabbed Ayawaso West MP Lydia Alhassan for sharing food at the constituency’s special voting center.
Lydia Seyram Alhassan, Member of Parliament and NPP’s Candidate for the Ayawaso West Wougon constituency has been seen sharing food and drinks to voters who are waiting for their turn in a queue to cast their ballot in the ongoing special voting exercise.
Okudzeto Ablakwa who was reacting to the issue trending on social media said a Member of Parliament who is confident in his performance of the last four years will not share food to gain votes.
“When you have always been there for the people you don’t need to share food and other inducements during voting.”
“In my beloved North Tongu, years ago I renovated the Aveyime Police Station, furnished the Juapong Police Station and refurbished military accommodation which had been gutted by fire. I also donated poly tanks, televisions, refrigerators, microwaves, laptops and others to enhance their ability to serve our community.”
“So during this special voting I didn’t have to engage in condemnable vote buying. Let’s say no to vote buying and insist that leaders don’t abdicate for nearly 4 years only to show up during elections with insulting inducements,” he said.
