Special Voting: Tema Central NDC Parliamentary Candidate cautions against alleged Mobile Money transfers to voters

The NDC parliamentary candidate for Tema Central Constituency, Ebi Bright, has raised concerns about alleged mobile money transfers to voters by her opponent, on the side of the NPP Charles Forson.

Speaking to the press, Ebi Bright emphasized that while the special voting exercise has been progressing smoothly, it must remain free from undue influence or coercion by any political actor seeking to sway the electorate.

She alleged that Charles Forson, along with the NPP constituency chairman, was seen engaging in financial transactions with some voters and was promptly cautioned. “Given the current economic climate and what is at stake, standing at a polling station to distribute money is testament to the fact that there is no depth in you” she stated.

Ebi Bright reiterated the need for all candidates to uphold the principles and integrity outlined by the Electoral Commission of Ghana. She called for a shift away from practices that compromise these standards.
