Special Prosecutor clears John Mahama of corruption in Airbus Scandal

The Office of the Special Prosecutor has exonerated former President John Dramani Mahama from any corruption allegations related to the Airbus scandal.

Addressing the press on Thursday July 8, 2024, Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng revealed that John Mahama is identified as ‘Government Official One’ in the Airbus SE scandal.

According to him both UK and US courts identified Mahama as Government Official One during their investigations.

However Mr. Kissi Agyebeng stressed that no evidence of corruption can be found against Mr. John Dramani Mahama.

He added that an intermediary, Samuel Adam Mahama who is a brother to the former president never received any bribe of which Mahama was to benefit including other persons named in the scandal.

Mr. Kissi Agyebeng further noted that no criminal prosecution could be Instituted against persons named in the bribery scandal.
