The start of the special competition proposed by the Normalization Committee will begin on the 15th of February 2019, spokesperson for the committee, Dan Kweku has said.
Patrick Akoto who is the spokesperson for Premier League Clubs earlier today said the teams were unaware of the date for the start of the competition.
However, in an interview with Ohene Bampoe Brenya, host of ‘Anopa Bosuo Sports’ on Happy FM, spokesperson for the Normalization Committee revealed that due to yet to be approved venues and regulations for the competition, the start of the competition will tentatively start on the 15th of February, 2019.
“Tentatively, we are looking at starting the competition on the 15th of February. We had a meeting yesterday to discuss the regulations, venues and fixtures for the competition. We are still yet to approve some venues,” he said.
The special competition is an initiative of the Normalization Committee who are charged with temporary running the day to day affairs of Ghana football.
The competition is expected to bring back active football after the Zylofone Cash Premier League was abruptly ended.
