Speaker of Parliament Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin has directed Roads and Highways Minister Kwame Governs Agbodza to promptly address concern raised regarding the suspension of the National Roads Authority (NRA) Act.
The speaker’s directive follows the Ministry’s decision to suspend the implementation of the act over who heads the the authority.
The Speaker, Alban Bagbin emphasized that any challenges faced in implementing the Act should be brought back to Parliament for resolution.
“The only place that can amend or upgrade the law is Parliament. I will refer to the minister to go and handle the issue”.
He indicated that, “We had a similar issue with the road tolls, and it was ignored by the then minister. That precedence should not be followed”.
