Minority Members of Parliament (MPs) who initially planned to boycott President Nana Akufo-Addo’s 2024 State of the Nation Address, have resumed their seats in the chamber.
Their return follows intervention from Speaker Alban Bagbin who addressed the House before the President takes stage.
Earlier, the Minority MPs were absent in protest of alleged remarks made by the Bank of Ghana Governor and President Akufo-Addo’s refusal to sign three bills they passed in 2023.
This led to the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, attempting to persuade the Minority to return.
With the opposition now present, the stage is set for President Akufo-Addo to deliver his address to a full house.
