Management of Ghana Airport Company Limited(GACL) has confirmed an incident that occurred at the Terminal 3 Departure Hall on Sunday, September 22, when a passenger’s luggage was found emitting smoke around 3:27 p.m.

The luggage was situated near the baggage wrap area, prompting an immediate response from the Aviation Security Department’s Operations Room. The security team quickly isolated the bag, and passengers in the terminal were evacuated in accordance with the Ghana Airports Company Limited’s (GACL) Emergency Operation procedures.

In a statement, the management revealed that the passenger involved has been handed over to the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) for further questioning.
