Some disgruntled parents and guardians on Monday besieged the Independence Square in Accra where the School Placement Resolution Centre has been set up to express their frustration over the non-placement of their wards in their preferred schools.
While some parents complained that their wards have not been placed in their selected schools, some children have been placed at schools they did not choose in regions they never selected.
A visit by Happy FM’s Joseph Nii Ankrah last week to the Greater Accra’s solution centre showed that there were lots of issues and confusion about the system on the part of parents and recent Junior High School (JHS) leavers.
“After one week, the situation has worsened” Happy FM’s Emmanuel Asante reported as he visited the center today.
According to him, some say they got to the centre at 3:00am and have since not been catered for as of 12 midday.
